Arts & Craft Fair (Burlington)
This one-day event, the Saturday before Thanksgiving, is hosted by the Recreation Commission. Just in time for the holidays, hundreds of vendors are on-hand with their holiday-themed arts and crafts, unique hand crafted items, quilts, and more. Vendor booths fill the Recreation Center's main gym and the Burlington high school and middle school commons areas and corridors. All three buildings are on Cross Street in Burlington. Coffey County Museum Exhibit Grand Opening Wednesday, November 14th from 7 to 9 pm, 1101 Neosho Street, Burlington.

Coffey County Museum Special Exhibit Arctic Spirit: Inuit Art from the Albrecht Collection at the Heard Museum, will be on display November 15, 2007, through February 3, 2008. The display of Canadian Inuit (Eskimo) culture's rich artistic history showcases the artistic styles that are distinctly of the Canadian Inuit. This exhibition is toured by Exhibits USA, which is the national touring program of Mid-America Arts Alliance, a non-profit regional arts organization based in Kansas City, Missouri. Approximately 125 sculptures, textiles, prints, and drawings from 30 different villages in Canada's north span 2,250 years of artistic creativity, beginning as early as 250 B.C. up until to the 21st century.

The exhibit is free to the public and was brought to the Coffey County Museum free of charge. The rental and shipping fees were granted to the museum. The Coffey County Museum invites you to visit this special exhibit. Exhibit Grand Opening is November 14th from 7 to 9 pm. Information about the display will be posted to the museum’s website later this week at www.coffeycountymuseum.org.
