Disaster Services Training--Fulfilling Our Mission Wed, April 11 6-9p, FREE. Registration ends one week prior to class. Learn how to translate your care and compassion into community action through uniform message, how to use skills and abilities to strengthen the capacity of both the community and the Red Cross to better serve people affected by disaster. THIS CLASS IS A PREREQUISITE FOR COMMUNITY SERVICES OVERVIEW (May 1) AND DISASTER ASSESSMENT (July 28) Register via e-mail or call 620.364.5547

Professional Rescuer Adult CPR/AED Monday April 23 9a-3p, $60. Registration ends April 16th. Designed for people with job-related duty to respond in an emergency. Participants will learn to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants; use an AED and use personal protective equipment. Register via e-mail or call 620.364.5547

Chamber After Hours
Chamber members and guests are invited to attend the April 17th Chamber After Hours hosted by First National Bank of Kansas at their Burlington location (600 North 4th Street). The After Hours event starts at 5 p.m. Adult beverages will be served. Please courtesy RSVP with the Chamber by phone 620.364.2002 or 877.364.2002 or e-mail. MEMBERS: Bring your business card and two dollars for the "Dollar Draw" and Ad-maina" drawings (must be present to win). Don't miss this great networking opportunity!

Easter Egg Hunts
  • Burlington: hosted by the Burlington Jaynes. Hunt starts 10 a.m. at Kelley Park for children 12 and under. Come and hunt for hidden eggs with the Easter Bunny! Contact Denise Humlicek at 620.364.8317 for more information.
  • Gridley: hosted by the Cameo Club. Festivities begin at 9 a.m. at The Hive (corner of 1st and Main) with the Cameo Club bake sale. At 10 a.m. the Easter Bunny comes with special eggs for the kids. Each egg contains several numbers that represent businesses in Gridley. The kids then take the numbers to the corresponding businesses for Easter prizes. Contact Gwen Birk 620.836.5383 for more information.
  • Lebo: hosted by Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Hunt starts at 9 a.m., Jones Park (by the city pool) for children up to 3rd grade. Hunt moves to the school gymnasium if raining. Contact City Hall for more information 620.256.6622.
  • LeRoy: hosted by City of LeRoy and the Social Club. Hunt starts at 10:30 a.m., City Park (on Main Street) for children up to 4th grade. Rain moves hunt to high school gymnasium (1 block west of Main). Contact LeAnna Meats 620.964.2544 for more information.
  • New Strawn: hosted by New Strawn Community (NSCIO). Hunt starts at 10 a.m. in Jones Park across from the Community Center for children up to 12 years old. Come early and register for the great kids prizes. Drawings begin immediately following the egg hunt. Call New Strawn City Hall for more information 620.364.8283.
  • Waverly: hosted by Evening Stars Extension Home Unit (EHU). 22nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt starts 10 a.m. at the football practice field (909 Dane Street) for children up to 4th grade.
