2008 Senior Honors Banquet May 7, 2008 Click on the link below to view the recap of the 2008 Senior Honors Banquet. ______________________________________________________________________________ Coffey County, Kansas, is located in the south central region of Kansas approximately 40 miles east of Emporia, 60 miles south of Topeka, 90 miles southwest of Kansas City, and 130 miles northeast of Wichita. US Highway 75 runs north/south through Coffey County and intersects US Interstate 35 approximately 15 miles north of Burlington, Coffey County's County Seat. The Coffey County Chamber of Commerce serves the business communities of Burlington, Gridley, Lebo, LeRoy, New Strawn, and Waverly. Each of these communities are rich in history and community involvement. Each city hosts annual events such as single- and multi-day community celebrations, the county fair, fishing derbys, OK Kids, BBQ cook-offs, arts & crafts fairs, and city-wide garage sales. Take a day-trip adventure to Coffey County and visit some of the historical sites around the county, the Coffey County Historical Museum in Burlington, or just check out some of the gift, curio, and specialty shops and eating establishments in our area. Make it a weekend trip and have a great time at one of our many community events! Lodging accommodations include hotel, motel,or camping at John Redmond Reservoir.
